I spent a couple of days in the beautiful town of Kinsale, Co. Cork where the Kinsale Arts Week was running. The festival had some fantastic speakers, such as Joseph O’Connor, author of Star of the Sea and Lord David Puttnam, producer of The Killing Fields and Midnight Express.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to meet Lord Puttnam, as it was by invite only. But there was plenty other activities to keep us interested. I thought I’d post up some pics of Kinsale, for those of you who haven’t been to Ireland yet. It’s hard to do it justice, but I’ll do my best!

I love kinsale! We went down yesterday afternoon, but for a less lofty purpose – lunch in Fishy, Fishy and shopping. Lovely day – didn’t get any great pics though cause it was so overcast.
@Niamh; Kinsale is so great isn’t it? When I visited it again, I thought it would be a great place to nurture the creative spirit. Only thing though, I would probably miss the city a little. Unfortunately my photography isn’t the best either, so I nicked these pics off the net 😀

Do it justice! You sure did Olive! Wonderful pics. I only live across a bit of sea but have never visited Ireland – it’s certainly something I will do one of these days. It looks like a lovely little fishing village – it reminds me a bit of Abersoch in north Wales, with a little more personality.
@Dan @Lua; If you guys do come to Ireland, particularly to the south, make sure to visit Kinsale. It’s the most beautiful town in Ireland, I think anyway:)

Hi Olive. I am from South Africa and have visited Ireland twice. I never did get as far as Kinsale-weather was bad the couple of days I spent in and around Cork. I love Ireland…great people and a beautiful country. Will be visiting next August and am planning to do Connemara, Co. Kerry and Kinsale.
