About
Olive O’Brien is a children’s writer, book publisher, journalist, ex-lawyer, film fan, avid reader and general wanderer, among other things.
In June 2006, I quit my job as a solicitor to return to full-time studies. I went on to finish a Masters in Journalism and I worked as an intern at The Sunday Business Post in Dublin, Ireland. In 2007, the travel bug hit big time and I lived in Bangalore, India, while I worked as a features writer at a newspaper.
The following year, I set out on a round the world trip, which was such an amazing experience. On my return to Ireland at the end of 2008, I decided to write a children’s book and I set up my own publishing company, Silver Angel Publishing. My first book “Perry the Playful Polar Bear” was released in 2009 and my second and third books “Perry the Polar Bear Goes Green” and “Eco Zico” were released in 2010. You’ll find out more about my books and publishing company at www.silverangelpublishing.com
I’m the co-ordinator for creativewriting.ie which offers online writing courses and I also run editing.ie, a proofreading, copyediting and professional writing service.
